Instructions
- Contrast administration: It is important that you are informed if the test requires sedation or intravenous contrast administration. In this case, you must go fasted.
- Metal objects: The technician will give you the necessary instructions, provide you a gown and ask you to remove any metal objects (jewellery, watch, piercings, hairpins, mobile phones, dentures and hearing aids).
- Heart devices: It is important that you inform the technician about any device that you have implanted in your body (pacemakers, electrodes and clips from previous surgeries).
- Duration of the test: The test may last 20 to 45 minutes, depending on the study being conducted. It is important that you stay still throughout this period.
- Hydration and breastfeeding*: Drink plenty of water to eliminate the contrast material from the body. If you are breastfeeding, you must stop for the next 48 hours. You must discard the breast milk.
