Densitometry
Test description
Bone densitometry is a diagnostic technique to measure bone mineral density. The densitometer is an actuating apparatus for X-ray emission. The total radiation received by a patient is very low, 20 times less than a chest X-ray, so it poses no risk.
To perform a bone density test does not require any prior preparation. The diagnosis is made by computer analysis of the areas of interest of the images obtained while the patient is lying.
