Flowmetry
What does it consist of?
Flowmetry is a painless test and very simple to perform, since it only consists of urinating in a flowmeter, a special container, which allows analyzing and measuring the amount of urine expelled at any given time to be able to translate the data and reproduce them graphically.
The purpose of this test is to study the rate at which urine is emitted. The normal thing is that the urine comes out quickly and with quantity, but if you have a problem that makes it difficult for the urine to come out normal, it will be appreciated that it comes out in smaller quantities and more slowly.

Who is it for?
Flowmetry is performed in patients who have problems urinating, with urinary disorders: difficulty in completely emptying the bladder, sudden need to go to the bathroom, urinary incontinence, drip.
The most common causes of this disease are:
- Urinary tract infections (urethritis, prostatitis, cystitis, vaginitis)
- Calculi
- Urethral contractions
- Prostatic hypertrophy
- Hypomobility of the bladder neck
- Urinary tract tumors

How should you prepare?
An hour before the test it is recommended to drink about a liter of water and retain urine.
