CT Artrum
What does it consist of?
First, contrast injection is carried out. Intra-articular contrast causes the joint capsule to distend, allowing very detailed images of the damaged joint structure. Subsequently, the CT test is performed for image acquisition, so you must remain stretched on your back with your head resting on a cushion and, then, the table will move until the area of the body to be studied is in the center of the CT equipment.

CASES IN WHICH IT IS RECOMMENDED
To whom?
The performance of Artro CT is mainly indicated in the following cases:
- Meniscus and cartilage injuries
- Tendon injuries
- Articular cartilage disorders
- Joint capsule tears and strains
- Detection of free intra-articular osteochondral bodies

INSTRUCTIONS
How should you prepare?
- Contrast administration: It’s important to be informed if the test requires sedation or intravenous contrast administration. In this case, it is necessary that you go on an empty stomach.
- Metal objects: The technician will give you the necessary instructions, provide you with a gown and ask you to remove any metal objects (jewelry, watch, piercings, hairpins, mobiles, dental prostheses and hearing aids).
- Heart devices: It’s important to tell the technician about any devices you’re implanted in your body (pacemakers, electrodes, and clips from previous surgeries).
- Hydration and lactation: Drink plenty of water to eliminate contrast from the body. If you are breastfeeding, you should stop for 48 hours. You should discard breast milk.
