Instructions and preparations
Follow the recommendations of our medical team and come prepared for your prostate biopsy.

Necessary medications
If you have to perform a prostate biopsy, the following medication will be necessary:
- Enema Casen 250cc (2)
- Cefuroxima 500 mg (box of 14 pills)

Do you take some treatment?
If you are taking any of these medications, you should take into account the following indications:
- If you take an antiaggregant therapy: Aspirina, Adiro 300, AAS 300, Bioplak, Plavix, Clopidogrel… STOP 7 days BEFORE de la biopsy.
- If you take an anticoagulant therapy: Sintrom, acenocumarol, Aldocumar, Warfarina, Pradaxa, Dabigatran, Eliquis, Apixaban, Xarelto, Rivaroxaban GO TO YOUR DOCTOR to receive the medication suspension/restart guideline.

Prepare for your prostate biopsy
- The NIGHT BEFORE put an ENEMA CASEN.
PROSTATE BIOPSY
Day of the exploration
On the day of the test, you must not forget:
- The MORNING of the biopsy NOT EAT ANYTHING and take 1 pill of Cefuroxima 500 mg (with a little of water) and put the ENEMA CASEN.
- Come to the center with companion.
- It’s forbidden drive until 6 hours before de exploration.
PROSTATE BIOPSY
Day after test
The same day of the test you will be discharged and you will be able to follow these recommendations from home:
- Take 1 pill of Cefuroxima 500 mg each 12 hours until finish the box.
- You may bleed with urine, stool and semen for several days.
- If you have a fever over 38º go to emergencies.
- If you take antiaggregant, you can restart it the day after the test.
- If you take an anticoagulant, restart it according to the hemostasis guideline.
